Today's app are pretty lackluster.  Keep in mind that the developer community for the Apple TV is still small and its mainly people porting their iPad games to the TV, as well as the TV apps.

1. Beach Buggy Racing

The game is very reminiscent of Mario Kart, but not as awesome.  Still a fun game though.  You play against people online, you shoot them with items, and you can even 4 screen with your buddies (one needs to be on an iPhone I believe).  The graphics are similar to Nintendo 64...which isn't saying much at all.  But it translates well to the big screen as far as fun factor.  The levels are pretty cool looking as well, very fun tracks.

2. Beachbody On Demand

Some of the best workouts made are available by subscription.  P90X and Insanity.  Tons of hours of workouts so your never board.  It's a great price compared to a gym membership ($14.99 a month).  Videos are great quality, they aren't just youtube rips like most of the workout video apps.

3. BACKR Guitar Backing Tracks

Thousands of songs to practice guitar too.  I would be weary of getting this app as I believe most the videos are straight from youtube.  So all the developer did for this App was just put them together in a nice littler package for you.  I like the idea though and its relatively cheap.  You get to favorite the videos you like.  Needs more songs though, a thousand is just not enough...I have more in my iTunes Library!

4. Battle Supremacy: Evolution

A decent vehicle tank destruction game...with drones and airplanes too.  The graphics are close to a PS3 level, the only thing holding it back is the lack of vertices each object can have so things tend to look more blocky then normal.  This is a game that is half visual as it is half engaging.  You mainly just blow up stuff, which can be fun.  It's got a great land to air and then back to land environment, fully immersive and no lag between the two.  There is a multiplayer aspect to it which has capture the base and team death match; good modes to have.  You will most definitely want to use the MFI controller for this game; which is one the best games to have incorporated the 3rd party controllers.

5. Bloomberg TV

Bloomberg has also incorporated Live TV with on demand content.  If a content provider does this with their app, more than likely I will put it on my top 5 list for the day.  This is something every cable subscriber wants, to be able to jump to a live stream.  Bloomberg has made that audience happy.  But, you will want to be into financial news from around the world...which can be pretty boring most the time.
